In true Kendall fashion, the C team emerged victorious 3-1 after trailing 1-0 at half-time through a dominating second half performance in Marlborough.

The team took a while to get out of the blocks and Groton House were on top early on, but were not creating too many chances. With almost their first clear opportunity mid-way through the first half, they scored capitalizing on some nice interplay in the penalty box.

After this, there were a number of chances for the C team, with Chilli creating a one-on-one chance for himself only to narrowly miss when one-on-one with the keeper. Killer had to be taken off with an unfortunate collision with the goalkeeper as Kendall pushed on in the first half.

At half-time, it looked like the C team were coming back into the game.

After an inspirational team talk by Dave and Mike and a couple of personnel changes, the C team came roaring out in the 2nd half. Chilli was proving a handful for the Groton House defenders and created a number of chances for himself and others around him. The forwards were definitely getting the chances and beating the Groton House backline for pace. In 1 particular chance, the keeper dropped the ball after a stinging shot, Crowley had a glaring chance from 3 yards, but it agonizingly curved wide!

Close to around the hour mark, Crowley atoned for this miss when played through beating the offside trap to take a shot from 25 yards out which curved into the top corner beating the on-rushing keeping. This was just the break the C team needed and pushed on taking advantage of the dominance the team now had. The defence were well in control with Sam and Dave having little trouble in the center of defence. The midfield were well on top with Kiz, Josh and Sam pressurizing and winning ball after ball. And Tony coming more into the game in creating numerous chances.

Shortly, after a brief period on the sideline, Crowley came back on to score a 2nd after being played through and beating the last defender cutting in from the right and slotting the ball in bottom corner. This was definitely about what the team deserved after incessant pressure.

It wasn't long before the 3rd arrived a couple of minutes later, when under pressure, the keeper who came out of the box and hence made a poor clearance out straight to Crowley, 35 yards out who was cool under pressure to slot the ball in along the ground with an empty net.

Kendall easily held out in the last 10 minutes, restricting Groton to chances from free-kicks and corners.

Overall, it was a very impressive performance, which the C team needed in the battle to avoid relegation. More performances like this in the last 4 games and the C team will surely stay in the 2nd division.
