Tough outing for Kendall Cs on Saturday, losing to Eagles 5-1. Conditions were perfect, but Kendall went down early after a quick transition from the Eagles and a well placed ball. Kendall had good pressure in the middle from Josh and Sean, and were able to advance the play up front to John C. or Killer on several drives.
Coming back, the Eagles had quicker legs and an easier time finding their open men in scoring position. Kendall found themselves down 3-0 after 45 minutes.
Stern words at half revived Kendall, and after less than 5 minutes, a low corner from Ryan W. knocked around the Eagles box, deflected off an Eagles player, and inched across the goal line, putting Kendall within 2. Kendall kept attacking from the midfield, giving excellent chances to Peter and Kobe, but the Eagles answered, capitalizing on all of Kendall’s mistakes.
The fullbacks played strong, and Donal deserved man of the match for turning away many Eagle attacks. After the fifth Eagles goal, Kendall could only keep their heads up and look to fight another day.
