All eyes were on Progin Park on Saturday morning for the eagerly awaited clash of the Kendalls. Last time out the Cs took all 3 points and this time the Bs were out for revenge, as well as to put their first points on the table.

On what was a hot morning, Kendall B lined out with a 4-4-2 formation that included a creative midfield pairing of Joao and Paul and the gaffer leading the line up front with JK. The game started off at a frantic pace with both sides trying to gain control of the match. Kendall B started well and it was not long in when Paul played a perfectly weighted ball over the Cs defensive line. JK, alert as usual found himself in a one on one situation with Steve in the Cs goal, however the ball managed to get away from him and the chance was gone.

It was by no means all one way and about half way through the first half the C team started to gain control of the match and were starting to cause problems all over the pitch. The C team broke through the middle and forced a fine save out of Tim, and eventually the ball was scrambled to safety.

Nearing the stroke of half time and still the teams were all level. The Bs made a break down the right hand side that resulted in a corner. The Bs sent all the big men up from the back in an attempt to steal one before half time, and thats exactly what they did. The ball was crossed to the near post, Joao got a glancing header on and the ball fell to Barry who unleashed an unstoppable volley to take the lead.

Kendall B looked much more assured in the second half and began to pass the ball around much better. The B team still had a number of opportunities that resulted from free kicks outside the box. The officials on the day seemed to be suffering from sun stroke and managed to point the wrong direction for every call, fortunately there were bad decisions on both side so it evened out overall. The consistent wrong decision making from the officials was too much for Rowan to take and after giving them a piece of his mind he was given his marching orders from the side line.

Kendall B were now looking fresh with Mick Mc running the line well and managing to get everyone on the pitch. With the game still tightly balanced and the Cs beginning to tire from chasing the game, a loose challenge in the box resulted in a penalty for Kendall B. The tackle in the box not only took down one but two players. Having scored one alright Barry stood up for the spot kick and doubled the Bs advantage.

The game finished out with the score 2 nil for Kendall B, giving them their first points on the table. Hopefully we can build on this performance for next week!
